Okay, yesterday was day 28 since I'd gotten the first Moderna dose, and I had my podiatrist's appointment in the morning, then miraculously got a Lyft ride in the rain across town to the clinic where I was supposed to get my vaccine. I was about 2 hours early, but it made no sense to go back home from the podiatrist's only to order another Lyft and hope and pray another one shows up to drive me 3 miles to the clinic. And at least outside of the clinic, I had the choice of Starbucks or Whattaburger for lunch.
So, I fordered many rivers and a lake, (it had really started raining and the parking lot was flooding) to go to Whattabrger. They were only doing drive-thu and curb-side orders and pick up, no inside dining. I caught the manager on his way back in to ask if I could order something. I ordered my lunch and the manager brought it out to me, concerned with how I was going to carry it over to the clinic. I showed him! I folded up the bag with my patty melt and onion rings, and stuffed it in my sling bag. So right hand had control of my cane and drink in left hand! Now it was a matter of fording those rivers and what was now a small sea again to find a dry spot by the clinic to eat my lunch.
I got to eat part of my lunch before the glares I was getting from people going into the clinic because I was 150 feet away with my mask down from my nose and mouth were too much. I still haven't learned how to eat or drink through my mask. So, I stufed the rest of my sandwich into my bag and went in. Went to the proper desk checked in and didn't even get a chance to sit down in the waiting room before I was called back to get poked!
So far today, my arm is sore, and that's it, but I'll give it a few more hours to see if I get sick.
