So Much for a Nutristionist Appointment

I never got to the nutritionist's appointment.

End of the month, I'm out of money. So I'm dependent on my insurance company's transport to medicql facilities. United Healthcare Advantage uses Lyft for an option for transport--something I've really liked. I can track where the driver is. The first driver who was supposed to pick me up at my house, canceled. but dispatch tracked down another driver.

Now, mind you, this nutritionist is in the same clinic my primary care' is--another sity other than the one I live. Okay, we get to the city, but somehow, the address of the clinic was either written down incorrectly when I scheduled the ride, or was changed. Either way, it wasn't where I needed to go!

It wasn't the Lyft driver's fault. It was a "locked" ride, meaning the driver cannot change the drop off location, because the rider isn't the one paying for the ride.

Okay, so I thought I would give it a shot to hobble to the clinic. But again, it is not a city I live in, so I don't know if the numbers increase heading North or heading South. I try to call the clinic to tell them what is going on, but I get locked into the world's longest phone menu!

By the time I got ahold of a human, I just canceled the appointment and focused on the challenge to get back home. :(

Now it will maybe be a New Year's appointment with a cardiologist--may be because I'm not sure I trust the transport to not dump me off at the Airport rather than the cardiologist's clinic.

How frustrating, you seem to have nothing but problems. The travel company sound really unreliable. How did you get home? 🤗

I just kept calling the number I'm supposed to call for the return trip home. Over and over because every time I'd get the message a driver would arrive in -- minutes, I'd get another message saying the driver canceled. I understood it was coming up on a time of the day when Lyft drivers get a lot of calls and Lyft will actually tell a driver to go to the closest call rather than an insurance company's rider. But there was nowhere from me to sit and nowhere to use a restroom. So, my fuse was about to blow. And remarkably, when I told them they needed to at least call a cab for me and pay for it, a Lyft driver finally showed up.

Last time there was no where for you to get any shade, what is the weather like now? 🤗

Not as hot, but still brilliant sunlight making it impossible to see the screen on my phone, and again, only shade was on the north side of the building. I just think new buildings built in NM will not design in any kind of over hangs. And because of the state lock down, no customers allowed into the CDB/THC store--all done by drive up.

Anther exhausting, wasted day for you. What a bummer. Why do you need to see a cardiologist?

I was just gonna ask , "why the cardiologist🤔???

I've been having to see a cardiologist ever since 2018 because I'd developed 2 DVTs. Mostly now, they monitor my cholesterol and triglicerides and my may be high or may be low blood pressure (it really does depend on when the BP reading is taken with me).

oh,oh,oh,the daily challenges!

Hi CrazyCatwom😊Why the cardiologist??? It's not like life doesn't happen, on top of everything else😞 But we're MS warriors!!!! & nothing can keep us down. It makes us stronger, or it can break us. I chose being a warrior .

Now how about you?

🙏❤Lisa💕

Well, in 2018, my warranty ran out and everything broke. When I fell trying to get into my front door with my rollerator for the first time after spending 3 months in the hospital, I sprained my ankle and messed up my calf. I developed a DVT in that calf. I'd developed a DVT when I was in the hospital earlier, but it was taken care of quickly. But now that I was out, that DVT wanted better real estate. It moved to my lungs, doing a really fancy "butterfly" effect--engaged both lungs! So I went right back into the hospital for another 2 months. Now they are just monitoring my cholesterol, triglyserides and blood pressure which may be high or may be low, depending on when it is measured for me. Though, I also think it is to see how many MORE meds I can be prescribed. :P

Everything, is interconnected , in our bodies.... Unfortunately, if 1 system gets compromised, your whole body's " out of whack!" Well , we're used to that !!!!🙏❤Lisa💕😞

Oh, I can't say that was exactly a bad thing. Because the second time I was discharged from the hospital I was sent to a fantastic rehabilitation hospital! This time instead of keeping me in a bed with an alarm that would go off every time I so much as twitched, I actually got real physical therapy with a black lab, named Garten, who only required me to hold her leash lightly. We walked around the gym together, and unlike the human therapist, she never hurried me along. If I needed to stop to rest a moment, she just sat right beside me. And when we'd start walking again, I'd feel her right next to my leg. That all got me out of the wheelchair a lot faster,So that wasn't bad at all!
