ms + cold + Ocrevus = not a good combination

just ranting.

I had my Ocrevus shot the 1st week of November. Then travelled abroad on week 3 of November and came back with a nasty cold that flattened me for the whole Thanksgiving week.

- not really smart of me to travel post-infusion,

- all ms symptoms showed up: fatigue (of course), lack of balance, difficulties walking straight (can't believe how hard it was to walk to the bathroom door in the middle of the night (now I'm laughing at it), numbness in left foot and hand, etc

- I'm better now but just craving my bed. The two kitties love it though.

And now that I gave it to my husband, I have to take care of a cranky man (I'm not fair, he's mostly good).

I'll have to be more careful next time and wear the mask even more than I did, wash my hands more often - the bad germs are out there!

I went 5 years on Ocrevus w/o a single infection and traveling quite a bit. Maybe I got cocky :-) This year I had a UTI and now a cold. And yes, I passed it on to my husband who has diabetes.

Much better this week.

How did you pass the UTI to your husband? 🤣 Oh, I get it…you just shared your cold with him!

I thought you meant cold weather. Chicago weather is kicking my butt!

I also learned this lesson recently. I traveled the day after my Ocrevus infusion in July and picked up something in the airport. I got super sick a couple days after flying. Pretty sure it was Covid as it felt the same as the 2 other times I had it. I didn't test for it this time though. Will try to travel a bit before infusions from now on when my immunity is at its highest.

ahrogers they say it takes about 2 weeks for Ocrevus to deplete the B-cells of your immune system.

But I do believe that the days after an infusion, as Ocrevus does its job, our body struggle and we do get tired, and potentially more exposed.

We simply can't ignore that we're more fragile than most people. I learned my lesson.

Where in the world did I read UTI? Now I don’t see it…did you edit this just so everyone can see how poorly my 👁️👁️ and 🧠 aren’t working? 😂
