Dear Newby (newly diagnosed) , Relapsing-Remitting ms(RRms) is NOT your fault. "YOU" did nothing to have this condition, it is NOT any sort of punishment. This condition is not fatal, It is chronic, it is progressive it is VERY SNEAKY. It is nothing that "YOU" may think and it can be everything that "YOU", think. That makes no sense does it. Surprise surprise neither does RRms.

"YOU" are shocked, this is very normal. "YOU" are crying endlessly. Believe me, it will end, unfortunately not permanently. After 20+ years I still shed a tear over the silliest of things.

The most important thing is this, YOU WILL BE OKAY. THERE IS NO CURE BUT THERE ARE A NUMBER OF DISEASE-MODIFYING THERAPIES(DMT) THEY WILL ALLOW "YOU" TO GET SICKER SLOWER, THERE IS NO CURE NO MATTER WHAT SOMEBODY SAYS. This is a chronic progressive illness, getting worse happens. I might note I walked 2 milesish today with no cane no walker no wheelchair so do not expect that "YOU" are automatically headed for a chair because "YOU" are NOT.

Take your time, cry lots, slowly adjust because "YOU" will live with RRms. Take the strongest available DMT, Ocrevus, I think.

Royce ( your ms writer and Brother)

YOU CAN live wwith RRms
