Has anyone had Covid while being on Ocrevus?

Hi, unfortunately my husband just tested positive for Covid. I just had my Ocrevus infusion last Tuesday and am scared about what will happen if I get Covid. I talked to my doctor who said to stay away from my husband, the best I can and wash my hands...a lot. Has anyone gotten Covid while on Ocrevus? What was the outcome?

Do as your doctor said, just try and stay as far away as you can. Disinfect every thing he touches, wash his cutlery etc in very hot soapy water, but be there for each other. My daughter used to FaceTime her husband , she was downstairs and him upstairs. Just make sure you wash your hands and I am sure you will be fine. Hoping all goes well for you both, let us know how you both are, you are in my prayers, blessings Jimeka 🙏

I have not had it, but I heard the same thing as Jimeka. You're supposed to isolate him in a separate room. Not sure how effective it will be though, since you've likely already been exposed. So I would focus on yourself. Do you know if the Ocrevus even impacted your immune system? I had my first infusion in August and believe it or not, my immune system is still very much intact. And if you do get it, I have not heard of MS being a comorbidity factor. Hopefully you won't get it, but if you do, hopefully it won't be anything more than a flu! You both are in my thoughts and prayers! Good luck to both of you! 🌺🌺

So sorry to hear about your family and the stress I’m sure you’re feeling. I am on Ocrevus with my last infusion in August. I got COVID at the beginning of November. Thank God I didn’t run into breathing problems. Had a sore throat, lots of congestion (in the head) fever, no taste or smell, and very run down, no energy. Lasted a good seven days and then started feeling better. My taste was the last thing to come back. I was lucky and had a bathroom in my bedroom. My family was good about making food and getting it ready for me. Although I wasn’t very hungry at all. I wiped down everything I touched if I had to leave the room and wore a mask. I knew when I was feeling better because I wanted to disinfect my bathroom and bedroom. Give your husband a good 14 days from the onset of his symptoms to not be contagious. I know the Dept. of Health is saying 10 days is safe but the person I got mine from was on day 14 after his symptoms started.Take care

Oh, no! I'm sorry to hear this. I know you'll be very careful to avoid infection the best you can. It's hard to help care for someone who is sick, when you really need to avoid being near them. Do you have some help? Can you take some extra Vitamin C and a little zinc?

Keep us posted, dear.

I had it a couple of weeks after an infusion. Got it in February at work. It was a 2-week cold, nothing major. Gave it to my husband. His cold lasted 1 week. No matter how often you wash your hands, it's not going to matter.

I have ended up getting Covid. I have a sore throat, headache, and very slight cough. I am doing okay so far. I appreciate your kind responses!

Sorry you got covid. I hope you have recovered with no complications. How long were you told to wait after covid before getting vaccinated?

I am on ocrevus and got covid April 5. My sore throat was awful, also had fever, cough, congestion, aches, some loss of smell and taste. On day 5, I was given an antibody infusion called bamlanivimab to prevent severe covid. My throat began to feel better the same day. I still have a cough and smell is not normal yet.

Now trying to figure out timing for next ocrevus infusion and vaccinations...

I know this is a long time since you guys posted. I just joined last night and have been looking up information on Covid and Ocrevus. I am extremely scared of getting Covid and watch and possibly happen. So, I’m happy to hear that you were not hospitalized. I’m sorry that you got sick but I’m happy to hear that the antibody infusion worked.
