DMT Yay or Nay

Good Morning family. everybody slept well and is well-rested, no aches and pains.

HHmmm, Disease-Modifying Therapy (DMT) yay or nay that is the big question for “YOU”, It is always the question. “YOU” and I have a chronic, progressive illness for which there is no cure, read that again. It is supposed to get worse over time, some faster some slower. “YOU” do want it to be slower don’t “YOU”? There is no good reason to hurry yourself into permanent disability. At least none that I can think of, maybe “YOU” have a really good reason to be disabled. Over my twenty-plus years I have done everything I can to avoid it. Perhaps one day it will happen but I will only go kicking and screaming and causing a fuss.

ThetTherapy we have available is called Disease-Modifying Therapy (DMT). It is not called disease curing, it will NOT cure “YOU”. It slows disease progression as seen by Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI), this is measured by Tesla. The higher the more it can show. 3 to 4 Tesla is standard I believe. Take the DMT and you will still have exacerbations ( attacks, episodes) again there is no cure. YES, there are side effects with DMT. It is very strong medicine. I know nobody does it, but read the warning label that comes with the DMT. It is hard and very boring but do it. Maybe not in one sitting but do read it. Ask a nurse, msAA or NmsS for what tricks and techniques “YOU” can use to make your injection easier. Eat before an injection, ice the spot, lightly massage around the area, rotate injection sites, inject late and go to sleep soon after, drink water pre and post needle. These are not all, I am sure there are more. Ask around and learn others. Of course if “YOU” have tried lots and lots of techniques and “YOU” are still lost perhaps change. I said change NOT stop. “YOU” have ms, “YOU” never stop. Look back at older ms people pre DMT, disabled, in wheelchairs, unable to control their bodies. They did not have any form of DMT, YOU do. Toughen up this is not a game, use the DMT available.

The answer is always YAY, this is a very serious illness, act like it. Do what has to be done regardless of how much “YOU” do not want to or how inconvenient it may be. Act like your ms is serious and that “YOU” want to take a little control of it. Do not merely be a permanent helpless victim. ms is very liveable, "YOU" just have to make the choices that allow "YOU" to live, and live well.

I am truly needle-phobic but I did my needle for years until an alternative came. Now I do that and will not stop, EVER. "YOU" should aim to be like this.

Royce (your ms writer)

the answer is always YAY
