This is one of my two doggies, Harley, the Bichon. We rescued each other at the shelter, I do not believe we humans ever just “rescue” a dog. He is basically a love bug, attached to my hip. He follows me everywhere and sleeps against me. I just love him and my cairn ( picture forthcoming). Love to all, Kelly

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️what more can I say. My Annie follows me from
Room to room. Sleeps right up against me. She is a bit too loyal to me. Will not go outside and do her jobs for my husband, only me. Will only eat when I am in the room. If I don’t get up to take her out, she uses puppy pads. Makes Frank sooo 😠. One person dog to the into degree. Rescued me to get me out of bed since I have lost my motives to get out of bed🤪
Oh, boy, I can really relate! I have to stay in the kitchen to get them to eat, and they always want me outside to do their business. They can be so odd, but so loving! I was just reading back 3 years ago when I posted that I had to put down my little Cody from Cushings. You wrote the sweetest reply, you understood how it went, you had been through it. Now here you are with another fur baby! Life is grand, with a pup in it. Love you, Kelly
What kind of dog is Annie?
No one agrees. The daughter of the woman who died who had her for 2 years said she is 1/2 chiahuahua and 1/2 dachshund but she doesn’t look like my Mandi who was long haired mix of those 2. Vet thinks she is part miniature Doberman pinscher and part chihuahua but he said who knows. The previous owner only had for 2 yrs and they said she was 6 but my vet said she is 8. She jumped off previous owners high bed and broke her back. Since elderly woman lived the dog the daughters paid over $2000 for surgery. But never quite recovered. Now she cannot jump up on anything. But can jump down from my low bed and low couch. SO I have to pick her up (OUCH to arm and back!!! For me) to bed and couch. Then in middle of night or whenever she jumps down for water and whines for me to pick her up. If I ignore her (cause I’m in pain) she eventually barks at me😡to pick her up. If I try to reach over and pick her up she runs to her bed cause she is afraid of being dropped! So I must get up and go to her bed to get her! She is very jumpy, skittish, scared of being picked up but whines if she isn’t, and shivers at every little noise. No doubt she was abused the first 4 years of her life then the trauma and pain of surgery didn’t help. When I got her she even had a staff infection and I have to bathe her in medicated shampoo every 10 days. Yep, she keeps me out of bed for sure! AND moves away from me if I pet her. Just wants to be near me but will not snuggle. Not my Mandi but she loves me so she is mine. I give her fish oil and hip joint supplements for her crippled back leg and an egg a day and spray her with a dog oil spray for dry skin. I will post photo. Thanks for caring
You are a sweetheart! Doggies like Annie require lots more time, energy and love. But they really need someone patient and you fit the bill. I am sure she must have suffered some really bad trauma and abuse. My little schnauzer, Daisy, had her ears cut off with scissors and welts on her back when we got her. We showered her with love and she just blossomed. It is amazing. They are loving, resilient sweeties. And they do get us out of bed when we want to stay in it! Keep in touch, my friend. Love, Kelly
So sweet!
He is so silly, he has to sleep with that fox every night! I tried for six months to find a toy he would like. Finally found “Foxy” as we call it. We get in bed and I say Harley, is Foxy dead? And he always shakes and shakes it. Then he waits for me to say yep, he is dead. Kind of morbid, but funny. He will not touch another toy, ever. He then folds it up carefully and sleeps on it! 😂🤣
I love bichons, I had one for 15 years but she passed away with cancer. Razor was 5 and he missed her a lot . Bichons are so dependable but keeping them knot free is a real pain. Both Harley and Maddie are adorable 😍 enjoy 🤗
You're right...we don't rescue them, they rescue us...😏🐾
What a sweetie!
Harley is so cute! He looks so cuddly & comfy too!
cute
Great dog! A little one with a huge heart.
Ahhh...🐶 cute
What a cutie pie!
I'm so in love with your little 'hog', or as you aptly called him, 'your love bug'! Thank you for sharing your sweet photo of him with the forum, Amore55 Keep Smiling
He can be a little hog, especially when I am eating! He just begs, but he does not get any, well, most of the time 😃.
Is that why you called him Harley? I have heard people call Harley motorcycles 'Hogs'
No, when we got him, that was the name my ex picked out. I did not think he looked like a Harley dog, but went with it. He seems to like it. I always think it’s sad that when we adopt animals we have no idea what their original name was.
I had a bichon who lived for 19 yrs! Loved her too death. Went blind when she was a little over a year old, but if you didn’t know it you wouldn’t realize😍 so smart and loving
Cute!!
How cute! I've always thought Bichons looked like the sweetest dogs but never had the opportunity to own one. I've just had mutts rescued from animal shelters. Sadie, my shepherd was a mix of lab and shepherd but looked and acted just like a shepherd.
Very Cute❤❤❤
