G’day (hello) family. As always I hope that “YOU” slept well and the day ahead has no nasty surprises.

Today, we start with a simple question. What picture do “YOU” see for yourself? In 646 Posts to “YOU” I hope I have shown “YOU” that our disease does not have to be all doom and gloom. That it is possible to move out of our cold dark cellar of despair, to move into gloom and perhaps sunshine. This I do not think will be an instant event it may take “YOU” many years of perseverance and effort, but it is possible and should be your aim. We will live with this disease many years, I expect forty or fifty, some may have longer, much longer. ms is not a sprint, it is an ultra marathon. 5 ,6, 10, 15 years and more, do not be disheartened, do notr give up. ms is life long, that means forever. “YOU” will die with ms not because of it, with it. Accept that and sit back we are in for a very long trip.

What is the picture “YOU” have of yourself in the future? For “YOU” the future might be next month, next year next decade, what do “YOU” see? At first I had no future, I listened to fools that lied to me and gave me no hope. I was lucky enough to be involved with a very wise lady that straightened me out and put me on the path to hope. I never hoped for a cure, my research told me that was impossible, but a way out of the gloom and despair was possible with some effort. I made the effort and my picture changed. From darkness and fear to today where it is definitely much brighter and dare I say happy.

What picture do “YOU” see for yourself? Take 5 minutes and think about that. What picture do “YOU” see for yourself? Is it dark, full of storm clouds and treacherous rocks. Or do “YOU”see a morning with the sun slowly rising and a smooth path ahead of “YOU”? A few obstacles for sure, we are disabled after all, but nothing “YOU” can not get past.

Seriously, look ahead and paint a picture of the future that “YOU” want to have. Right, now that “YOU” have your picture start moving towards it. Arm yourself with the resources that “YOU” will need. Start with your Medical support team. Decide on a Disease-Modifying Therapy (DMT). Ocrevus is what “YOU” want. it is the strongest. Look at your eating habits, your exercise habits. Log what “YOU” do and how “YOU” feel for later reference, if “YOU” need it. Your picture may change that is okay. Setbacks and obstacles will occur. There is no exact pathway for everybody to travel on. Like the disease, it is different for everybody, but the need to do something, to start moving and never stop and give up is the same for all of us. Do something do not let the disease or anybody diminish “YOU”

To others, it seems like thing happen overnight. To you, it seems like things don't progress fast enough! What I am saying is, to the untrained eye, ducks seem to have it all together, and look so calm while swimming around in a lake, but they are addling furiously in order to move around so seemingly effortlessly! Be a duck, my friend, and you'll go places! :-D

Good advice, there is no reason for others to see your huge efforts, just that you look good
