I eat only produce and poultry, am 8% body fat, menopausal, 57yo., exercise daily, meditate and do yoga My BP is 160 over 90. I can get it lower when I meditate. I take no medication and supplement B12, vitamin D and cal/mag

Thoughts? Advice?

My lifestyle is healthy My blood work is perfect I read that MS and menopause can raise BP

Does high BP run in your family?

My parents are deceased, led sedentary lifestyles, and had an awful diet My brother has MS and has decided to take control through diet and exercise and is a motivational speaker. DNA I am related but I’ve led a complete 180 lifestyle from my genetics

Stress? Sometimes just heredity?

Breath in relax the body, exhale calm the mind. I've been a massage therapist for over 35 years. Like I said in the post, Menopause and/or MS related BP. Just wondering if it's life threatening or I'm one of those people that can live with it without incident

High blood pressure is called the silent killer. You may not always know when it is high or be able to bring it down in natural ways of meditation.

seems You are doing everything possible to keep healthy.

My husband’s mother had abnormally high cholesterol, yet she was otherwise healthy, ate well and got her exercise. She was told it was hereditary. She was s nurse and did not want to take any meds. However, she did take a cholesterol controlling drug to lower it. My husband has the same thing and must take a drug to keep levels down

This just might be the one medication you need to take.

Have they checked for possible blockages?

Bob Harper on the Biggest Loser show was living the healthy lifestyle, yet he had a heart attack.

Please do not ignore this

Thanks for your info. I was donating blood fairly regularly so yes, keeping track of my BP. All has been fine even with the MS and menopause . As the years progressed it shot up and yet only AGE has changed

Are you being exposed to anything environmental that may be adversely affecting your health? Your diet and lifestyle seem good, but you've had family and personal history of Multiple Sclerosis? MS is definitely looking like an environmental trigger to scientists at the forefront nowadays. What is your environment like? Any signs of mold or water damage in your home or workplace? Microbes screw with hormones and those cause knock on effect into heart, brain and other organ difficulties etc

No environmental changes except I’ve become an empty nester and am down to 2 dogs from 6

Keep an eye out for it, also watch for chemical exposures. xx

Take your blood pressure med. Your aversion to it is not healthy or in your best interest. If there are any side effects your doc can try a different kind.
