Another Round

I just learned since my symptoms have not improved I will be doing another 5 days of IV Steroids. Yay, I thought when I got the news. The nurse said she will be out Friday or Monday to start it so I can have a few days off. My legs feel like jello or cooked spaghetti noodles, my left eye is still bad and hurts which causes migraines on that side of my head. My dog is still laying on my head every chance she gets not sure if she knows my head hurts or if she is still secretly trying to kill me. I have changed my diet so it is healthier and MS friendly or so it says in the book Healing Multiple Sclerosis. The only difference is that my speech seems to be affected this time. I am having trouble talking not too much but some and everyone around me noticed it and told me. Just thought I'd share. This time the doctor is giving me a taper off.

I pray the IV steriods start to help. When I had my severe exacerbation I had 6 days of high dose IV steriods gradually tappering them done to last dose. What a trip. It took a long time for my symptoms to settle down. Years and three DMTs later.

My prayers are for your symptoms to settle down and you improve in strength health talking and peaceful mind.

Blessings❤becky

Stay strong 💪

So sorry you are having these problems. The steroids are really rough on your body, but so is this exacerbation. Steroids leave me very weak for a long time, like a month. So be prepared to rest and wait for your full recovery. I'm praying for a full, swift, recovery.

I have changed my diet according to that book as well. Two days ago, I finally saw a doctor who diagnosed me with candida overgrowth and put me on antifungals. The diet alone doesn't do it. (I have been on that diet for two months, and I have lost 7 pounds, my husband has lost 10 pounds, I have more energy, bit it is not the cure.) I was starving candida, but am starving and killing it now. Plus remember - steroids cause candida. My steroids caused me not to be able to walk without assistance (and to be bed-ridden while I was on them).

It's hard to hit the "Like" button for your post but I did to show I care. How do you put up with that terrible taste in your mouth from the steroids? I sucked on peppermints for months afterwards because that's the only taste that would overcome that nasty one.

cinnamon candies, peppermints, and I just recently heard Dr. Pepper helps but I haven't tried it yet
