Today was special at the Kaiser Hospital.
I had an appointment with my neurologist at 10:30, I arrived too early because my calendar said 10:00, but I got a rock star parking spot. I sat in the waiting room and did my puzzles expecting a long wait. (My doctor will spend as much time as you need) Today however, he was right on time! As we’re going through my symptoms, we talked about the trouble I have sleeping due to RLS. So he makes a referral to the sleep study clinic. While we’re chatting, I get a phone call from the director of the sleep clinic. I put him on speakerphone so we could all talk. He says at the end that he will contact the scheduling group to set up the appointment. Not 5 minutes later, I get a call from them and we set up my appointment. But wait, it gets better.... I also got a prescription for new meds to stop the nightly cramps and spasms.
As I’m walking out the door from the examination room, I get a text telling me that my meds are ready to pick up. I drove over to the hospital to pick up my meds and again, a rock star parking spot is available right in front. I wobble into the pharmacy and in about 5 minutes, I have my meds and I’m going home.
This never happens! First of all, everyone at Kaiser has permanent handicapped placards or plates, but today was my day!
Now I’m home and have to do laundry. Maybe I’ll find money in someone’s pocket and really complete my fantasy day.
