HI EVERYONE. I HAVE BEEN HAVING HEADACHES THIS PAST WEEK OR TWO, MY ARM MUSCLE NEAR MY SHOULDER IS HURTING, MY ONE EYE HAS GOTTEN WORSE THAN IT WAS AND MY WALKING HAS GOTTEN WORSE (TO WHERE IT FEELS BETTER BEING IN A WHEELCHAIR). THESE ARE SYMPTOMS THAT I DIDN'T HAVE BEFORE. I DON'T KNOW, BUT COULD THIS BE CONSIDERED A RELAPSE? I WAS DIAGNOSED LAST YEAR WITH ADVANCED MS. ANY ANSWERS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
IS THIS CONSIDERED A RELAPSE?: HI EVERYONE... - My MSAA Community
IS THIS CONSIDERED A RELAPSE?
What you're describing could possibly be related to a relapse, but you should call your neurologist right away to find out. There may be steroids or other treatment to help stop it quickly and avoid more damage.
Let us know what you find out. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
Lindaz9, it's Fancy1959 officially welcome you to this awesome chat. The first thing I would tell you is to contact your neurologist. We are not doctors here and you need to go to a neurologist for his professional opinion. Having said that start a log of your symptoms and the new ones you're feeling the time of day they're worse what makes them worse what makes them better call your doctor and get in as soon as possible because it does sound like you might be in the midst of a relapse. Remember new symptoms have to last longer then 24 hours to be considered an actual relapse. When they are very short-lived where they last less than 24 hours, they are considered an exacerbation. That's part of the reason I think you might be in the middle of a relapse because you state that this is been going on for 1 to 2 weeks. Again please don't waste time, call your neurologist as soon as possible and get an appointment in to see him or her. If you're currently on at the DMT it might be time to look at changing therapy to better contain your relapses. I hope this helps. I can't wait to get to know you better because the more we interact with each other the quicker we will get to know each other. I am certain there is much we can learn from each other. Take it especially easy until you get into the doctor, and make sure you stay out of the Heat and hydrate well. Remember together we are stronger!
I agree with everyone else that you need to see your neurologist asp
Call him tomorrow first thing and let him know what is going on with you.
I hear you! I've had my first tingling in my arms and horrific hip pain. Fortunately I see my neuro next Wed. Hopefully he's ready for an earful!
Vision and mobility worsening are huge red flags, call your MD. I hope it's just the heat.
