It's me Chrisđ One of your newest members. I have been diagnosed with MS for 4 months now. PPMS.I had a rough night last night beginning with a bad pain in my right ear. The whole side of my face where my ear is at was painful. Then today I experienced a bad fall while standing up getting ready to walk my legs went out on me and I fell on my face.. My left side has been effected by spinal cord compression that caused me to have a major surgery 6 months ago. I haven't fell in about 6 months. I have been dealing with alot of stressful situations. Could this be a relapse?

It sounds like it. I had bad pain in my right ear when i had my episode that got me diagnosed last summer. My dr says if it lasts more than 24 hours. Definitely tell your dr. Hope you feel better, blessings
New symptom or worsening of old symptom lasting more than 24hrs
Any loss of vision, bowel/bladder, or motor function.
I do not have PPMS, just sharing as an example of when you may want to report something. My last relapse started with cold painful feet and a touch of Lâhermittes.
Since then Iâve learned that if you do get the 5day steroid pack and it worked great until it wore off on say day 7...also call about that too.
This disease is crazy, call in and report whatâs going on and see what they think. Then let us know how you get on. Iâm sorry youâre having a rough time, it can be frightening and exhausting with MS on top of life stress.
This could be a relapse or something else. Make note of your symptoms so you can relay this to your doctor especially if they last longer than 24 hours or get worse. MS is a tricky disease, just be aware of your symptoms and tell your neurologist everything. Nothing is too small. Good luck.
Thank you all for getting back to me. I have other conditions as a result of this disease. I will call my doctor tomorrow and keep note of my symptoms. I am very glad this community exists. It is helping me tremendously!
Iâm so glad you are getting the support you need from this site. Iâm sorry youâre having these symptoms, but am so glad youâre taking the advice here and are calling your doctor.
Please keep us posted on how youâre doing and what you find out.
Hi Christina, I have PPMS and I was told my neurologist that this type of ms doesnât have relapses and so far itâs been true for me. But we are talking about ms and there are no set rules. Sorry about your fall, a nice purple bubble wrap suit would be helpful, it will help cushion the fall. đ nice to meet you, this is a great site, Blessings Jimeka đ¤
i am so sorry you are having more pain from another area ....wow call the doctor and see what they want you to do...get better ....love and much happiness for your future...
Sorry to hear about your symptoms. I tell all of the newcomers about the most valuable thing I have learned here - the book by Ann Boroch "Healing Multiple Sclerosis." It has changed my life. Do check it out. They have it on Amazon.
Stress can be a contributing factor when it comes to an MS flare ups reading everything you have gone through and not knowing your daily situation stress is at times a contributing factor to a flare up. Try to find for yourself what makes you happy whether it is music movies or a good book but something to take your mind off of the MS for a few moments.
