Hair loss Ocrevus

Started in 2017. Having second 600mg dose in September. Always had to shave my legs and had abit of soft hair on my arms. Hair is gone. Take 5000iu of D3 and 5000iu of Biotin. Is the hair on my head next? Multiple Sclerosis. Have taken gylena, didn't stop lesions. Tysabri, JC positive after 5 treatments.

Now you have me thinking ? Was that your 1/2 a dose that you started in September because if it is on my part that's not the Ocrevos that's making your hair fall out because mines still growing. But since about three years ago my hair has not been growing that fast.

I have been losing my hair as well. Getting really thin on top. I have long hair and I don't really want to loose it, but I rarely get what I want! My doctor and I discussed the hair loss and it's not a reported side effect of Ovrevus however it is possible it's due to the strain on my body from everything. That and I am 44 so it could be that time in my life whereas I'm just losing my hair. I have added biotin to my daily vitimans and using a shampoo and conditioner with biotin as well to try and reduse the effects. That and adding stuff to my diet. Eat alot of the heart healthy mixed nuts and stuff that's supposed to promote healthy hair. So not completly sure what's causing my hair loss but it's possible I suppose.

Thank you for your post. I thought I was crazy as globs of hair now come out EVERYTIME I wash my hair. This is the first time I have read anything connected to Ocrevus and hair loss. I have purchased more vitamins for hair but it did scare me. I'm glad to see I'm not alone now.

I was on Avonex for years and lost gobs of hair! My bathroom had more hair on the floor than a beauticians! Fortunately, I have a really thick hair. Hope you do, too!

I take my first full dose of Ocrevus in September, and I am losing lots if hair too!

cemiller101 I had my 2 half-doses of Ocrevus in Aug. and the full dose in Feb. and no side-effects including no hair lose to report. But we all respond to meds. differently.

I just started Ocrevus - had my two infusions in July. About a week after the last infusion, I began shedding hair. Unfortunately, I’ve lost about a third of my hair in three/four weeks since. Thankfully it’s not hairloss in big patches, just an all-over thinning. But it’s alarming to go through— I touch my head and hair just falls out into my hands. (I have long hair.) It sucks, but it’s better to treat the MS. I’m hoping it will grow back. But seriously— I’m not exaggerating. I’ve lost a lot of hair. It’s noticibly thinner on top. Like, everyone notices. (lol) But no bald spots, so I’m blessed there. I hope that helps!

I have thick hair but this is the most hair I have ever seen come out. I'm thankful for everyone's posts regarding hairless? Why isn't this listed as a SIDE EFFECT of Ocrevus as well???

I’ve noticed my hair extremely thin and brittle! Had my 1st 1/2 doses in Jan/Feb and 1st full dose aug - I’ve noticed extend hair loss and brittleness. Prayers my hair will grow back to as it was just prior to treatment.

I have lost a lot of hair since starting the Ocrevus. A couple days ago I started crying because a clump of hair came out while brushing it. People have noticed the thinning and of course I can't noticing it too. I have had 5 doses so far and with each one I notice more and more hair loss. I don't know what's worse, the MS attacks or the emotional toll that it's taking on me when I see my hair falling out. I am at a loss and don't know what to do.

I had my first half dose in September 2018 and second half dose in the beginning of October 2018. For the last 3 months my scalp has been flaky and my hair has been falling out. The ONLY thing that has changed in my life is Ocrevus. My hair stylist noticed my hair was thinner and told me I was lucky I had lots of hair. That was a month ago and I have lost even more! I am getting really scared to get my first full dose at the end of March. There has to be a connection!

I'm like you are... I've never really been vain about hair ....I've now had 4 doses of Ocrevus... My bathroom is covered with my hair after I wash it... So much hair comes out.. I have thick hair BUT I HAVE NEVER seen soo much of my hair shed before everywhere...now I'm dreading washing my hair or getting my hair done because I am almost ashamed this is happening? Especially since alot of people still don't honestly understand the depth of this disease MS.... Thank you for sharing your experience I don't feel so crazy now...

I start doing my hair Nov 2018 2 months after my full dose of O. I hasn't stopped I'm nearly bald.

I started Ocrevus last Oct and noticed my bald spot has gotten worse. My second round next week. I already take 5000 IU of D3 daily. I will add more biotin.
