Yesterday I had some neck pain during the day and it got worse later at night. I used an ice pack pretty much all night which seemed to help. Also took some otc pain reliever which helps but the pain comes back after the 4 hours. Today I woke up dizzy and more neck pain. I think the dizziness is because I didn't sleep too well with the neck pain and my dog woke me up a couple times to go out (which she had been sleeping through the night most nights so it was kind of an 'off' night for her). Hopefully we will sleep better tonight and this will all be better tomorrow.
Heading to bed to relax for the night,
Jessie

I'm not sure what causes the pain in my neck but after my last mri, it said I have degeneration in my neck so that may be what is causing it. Just sometimes the pain is worse than others. I see a chiropractor every 2 weeks for it. I did sleep better last night an no dizziness today, though still have some neck pain, just not as bad as it was yesterday.
Think I may make an appointment for a massage therapist after the new year
Thanks doveflyfree for asking. My neck is still really bothering me lately and the headaches are more constant. I am definitely going to mention it to my Neuro on Thursday when I see him.
bxrmom have you had a cervical contrast MRI? I did and it showed all kind of neck problems! Supposed to be going to physical therapy but canโt afford it. Ice packs, heating pads, essential oils for pain, neck massaging cushion, tens unit all help, but there is no cure. Just another MS symptom that has advanced to its own individual monster. The Mama Monster has baby monsters in my body! Also 2 lesions in neck. I am 71 and past helping or stopping progression except thru diet, supplements, etc. I pray God leads you to some relief that works for you. And the more sick I began the more nervous my little beloved Mandi became. She sensed my pain and anxiety level, and very sad to say, her cortisol levels (anxiety) became high enough and long enough to damage her kidneys. She started waking me up more often (usually not much asleep anyway) but in the end couldnโt even make it outside. Eventually even after meds, kidneys shut down and I lost her in July after 15 years of being my best little buddy! Still in sorrow over the loss. She was my constant companion. Might want to get some bloodwork done on her to catch any problems early. I was shocked when vet said high cortisol levels, because mine are always high, also. I pray for peace daily, for all of us.
agapepilgrim My neuro sent me for an MRI after I last seen him because of headaches and the report said I had degeneration in my neck Just seems like the pain has been getting worse in the last couple weeks to month. Could be stress after kicking my bf out of the house, I don't know?
I'm sorry about your Mandi, it's so hard when they don't feel well and we don't know why. And then even if we know why but can't make them feel better. I lost my senior dog at almost 13 1/2 last year. She had a weak heart and was just getting weaker, even with meds so I knew it was time to let her go.
@bxrmom I have degeneration in my neck also. Along with cervical spondylosis, spinal stenosis, neck spurs, an old neck fracture as a small child, that no one remembers, and bone on bone. Degeneration just gets worse with age, and I am 71. I cannot sit for over 10 minutes wihout my neck supported or I get in a lot of pain. When I showed my chiropractor the contrast cervical MRI, he said he couldn't work on me anymore - any wrong move and he could break it. And if I make a sudden quick wrong move, I could break it. Been going to chiropractors since 4 years old, and they did relieve the pain temporarily. Now only dry needling gives temporary relief (until I do activities without neck support, and deep pain comes back, so back to the dry needling. And, yes, stress makes it worse because I stiffen my neck which is bad for it. It needs to say relaxed and limber. Yea, right. I pray you find relief. I take a lot of EPA oils for the arthritis in it, and other supplements for the dwindling away of the fluid between the discs (or whatever it is called - I have progressed to dementia due to MS in the brain area of autonomic nervous system and communication). "In this world we will have tribulations; I overcame the world", and so can we!
