Hip pain... still...

I've had pain in my left hip for about 8 weeks now. The hip dr. gave me a shot in my bursa and told me if the pain came back, it's a back problem. It came back. The back dr. said since the hip shot worked, even for a little bit, it's a hip problem. (grrrrrr....) The good thing he did was to send me to PT. PT says it's is, for sure, a back problem. I'm in my 4th week of PT. Just got an extension for 2 more weeks. (yeah) Saw neuro yesterday and in 2 weeks I have my annual MRI and she recommended a pain dr. in their office. I'm going to wait on that appt. until after the MRI. Maybe something will show up??? Last night, for the 1st time, my RIGHT hip woke me up. Goody. Now I have pain in both hips and back... I hate this...

I know what a pain it can be when one is saying it’s the others job. Maybe they need to talk to each other instead of not doing nothing.

Do you have any other condition like MS that could be causing nerve pain?

Think very hard if they suggest back surgery. I now have a lovely scar from between my shoulder blades to my tail bone, 2 rods and 6 screws and the same pain I started with.

I have no other issue besides MS and depression. I will really push back if they start thinking surgery!!!

Remember MS causes nerve damage which can cause pain. I hate to share this with you but pain in my left hip is what brought me eventually to my MS diagnosis. It started in 2009 maybe? Now it is in both hips across the top of the back connecting them and underneath them. And I haven’t found anything to make it better yet ☹️ If you run across a miracle, PLEASE, let me know as I am still searching!

Well, I saw my neuro Wednesday and now have an MRI scheduled on the 22nd. (Normally I have one in October.) Perhaps something will show up??? I am being referred to a pain dr. but I'm not pursuing it until after the MRI. I'm not sure if I'm hoping something shows up or not... PT helps some. I religiously do the stretches! Today was supposed to be the last time to go but I got it extended to 2 more weeks. That will at least get me past the MRI. It's so hard with something like this because you never seem to know if it's MS or something else!
