I've been seeing snippets about magnesium. How much and in what format should magnesium be attained?

I take 600 mg per day of magnesium Glycinate. Supposedly this form is better absorbed. Different forms have slightly different effects you probably should research

erash i have tried powdered, capsule, tablets. Biggest difference- 700 mg does help me go to sleep! Powdered form works fastest but bothers my Burning Tingue Syndrome. Finally found it in capsules. Taking that now. Everyone I know speaks very highly of it helping them relax. Currently taking Swanson Triple magnesium complex 2 each night

Hi. I take 20mg in the morning and 200mg at sleep time. It is tablet, citrate, glycinate or malate. The magnesium should be divided for better work in the entire body and brain also during sleep time ans prevent cramps also. I read it has more than 150 functions in our body and one of more important is keep the blood pressure stable without getting high. It's help regenerative brain, muscle, energy, stop headache for sure, etc. I use magnesium for over 10year. I like brands like Jarrow, Life Extension, Now, Solaray. Magnesium citrate liquid is for constipation relief.

Agreed with all of the aforementioned mentioned and I also have a magnesium oil. I use it on my legs at night (mostly to prevent nightly spasms) and in my massage practice as I work throughout the day. Highly effective for those with MS.

Good_Enough, it's Fancy1959. I have never really even heard about the benefits of magnesium or taken any so once again I have learned from this chat room. What I would suggest however is that you speak to your neurologist and or family doctor even if it's by email or over the phone and check to make sure that the medication you are alone will not be affected by adding magnesium. Sometime over the counter medication to herbal supplements contain very powerful drugs we are unaware of. And each of us also have individual reaction to everything we take. No two people tolerate the drugs and supplements they ingest quite the same way. Please decide to be on the safe side and check with your doctor before adding anything including the magnesium. Please remember that together we are stronger!

Hello everyone. I don't get on very often but when I do I always learn something new. I also started taking magnesium. My husband ordered it for me. I also agree with the previous comments. I hope all is doing well.
