Gradual blurry vision with far vision. Optometrist unable to correct vision with glasses. Retinologist says very healthy retina. Sent records to neurologist. Message from neurologist - chronic optic neuritis. yesterday completed 3 days of sterioid IV infusuions with very little improvement.

Will the steroids kick in later?

I hope so, Vinagirl! Never took solumedrol for optic neuritis, but while it still worked for me, I felt immediate results with the IVs. Praying you feel better real soon.

This was my first MonSter activity in 1986 according to the Cleveland Clinic... Mine when untreated, went away, and was not dx until Dec. 1993... LIVE YOUR LIFE AND ENJOY!!! Stay positive keep on keeping on, and I wish you healing!!! Maybe it's not MS and it's good you've got a neuro now...

Hi Vinagirl welcome to our chat :) So sorry about your optic neuritis. I had a case of that also. Mine was cross eyed tho and my head hurt some. Like you l went to the optometrist and he couldn't find any thing either. My neuro ordered the solumedrol which took care of it, but before the month was over it came back. I had to have another round, you might have to also.

Have you seen your neuro? Told him that you still have it? Could it possibly be a migraine? Call your neuro and see what he says, and feel better soon :)

Vinagirl Optic Neuritis - blurry vision - is what caused me to have to see a Neurologist and later my dx of MS. I was given 3 days of Solumederal and steroid taper drugs and it seemed to help me get better, though it seemed like a slow process. Hope this helps.

I woke up,this morning and my vision is back to normal! Yea!

The retinologist and a neuro opthamologist said my optic nerve was fine, however my neuro thought I had chronic low grade optic neuritis and he was right. My neuro is so smart!

My neuro said that it takes up to 2 weeks for the steroids to work for optic neuritis.

Update. Optic neuritis has returned. Awaiting results of visual evoked potential test and MRI. Between the vision issues, bladder infection, and the worst fatigue ever, I just want to feel well again........ I ask God for strength........

Oh, I forgot to add that my weird form of restless legs is changed to something different. Probably spinal myoclonus.

I am praying for you. For me the fatigue can be what makes me extremely depressed.
