My skin is so red, burning and sore, i'm in a vicious circle of scratching because it burns and burns because i scratch (subconsciously )

I am really embarrassed and want to cry.My skin is so bad and i literally want to hide under a mask.

My husband tried to break it in a concerning way to explain how bad my skin is but said i look like a drug addict - I don't do any drugs so was taken aback but do agree and need to get this sorted.

I've used

* sudocream which works but gets everywhere,

* Doublebase Diomed Flare Relief Emollient - makes my skin burn and worse

* various other skin care products

It's ruining my life, my confidence and my relationship.

I can't get through to doctors.

Oh my darling I feel your pain. You need help urgently. If you are struggling to see your GP try your local pharmacist. But you could also e-mail photos and list of what doesn't work to your GP practice. I have scratched the inside of my right lower arm in my sleep, not pretty. Using antiseptic cream to stop infection.

If you haven't done so already...see a dermatologist, not only your G.P. Often a general doctor doesn't know much about skin problems. Suggest going to your local hospital's emergency dept. if you can't get in to see a dermatologist. Best time to go to emerg is first thing in the morning like 8 or 9 a.m. before they get busy. Tell the triage nurse that your condition is getting worse and need help. You may need a prescription for antibiotics. Hope this helps.
