Hi all, my girlfriend is struggling with her psoriasis. From looking at the website I know there isn't a cure for it but having bad skin myself I can sympathise with how she's feeling and would love to be able to help her.

is there anything to do or avoid which might help?

Any advice would help.

Thanks

Hi Lukedirpose, I represent MyShowcase and one of the products I've seen great results with is the Orba Goat's Milk Skin Soother. Applied topically, it's a natural alternative to using steroid creams and the like. Skin in a sensitive state, such as psoriasis (or acne or rosacea or eczema) can tolerate this product and be soothed by it, due to the Goat's Milk content.

Obviously you can try other Goat's Milk based products, but should you wish to try this one, just let me know.

Hope you both get some relief soon. Amy xx

Additional info that could be of assistance, don't know how long your gf been suffering or what she has tried so far, but anything she can do to sloth away the dead skin cells on the outside and stimulate the production of collagen/elastin on the inside of the skin layer, could reduce the appearance of the psoriasis. A gentle cleanser or polisher being massaged onto the area could be a great help to tackle both of these. xx

My advice is more about the emotional aspect of skin conditions.... please stay the lovely guy you are for wanting to help your girlfriend rather than being cheeky or rude about the condition.

Hello - I know people who have achieved amazing relief from Psoriasis by drinking 60 mls a day of pure aloe vera juice and applying pure aloe vera gelly to the affected skin, followed by a bee propolis cream. Both soak completely into the skin.   I can send you free samples of the gelly and propolis if you would like to give this a try.  PM me if so x

Hello

You can only buy this from an authorised Distributor in the UK however I'd be happy to send you some samples in the post of the gelly and the propolis just to see if it helps ..... many people start to see an improvement within 7-10 days.

That's really kind but I'm from the uk so I don't mind purchasing them myself

Apologies, I was trying to help you 'try before you buy'. These products are not sold in shops - only by authorised Distributors who work from home .....  the full size gelly is £12.50, the Propolis cream is £15.50 - both in 113ml tubes. The pure aloe vera drinking juice is £21.50 for a litre. If you would like to discuss then feel free to call 07341 337899

Try Omega 3,6,&9 capsules.  Made a great difference to me.  I buy the capsules in Asda.

I would suggest your girlfriend consults a nutritionist. I had an i flammatory skin disease for decades and got to the point where medication was wrecking my system. I was given subtle sdvice about changing my lifestyle and what I eat and I have been symptom free for over 12 months and also off all medication. It really did work for me. Good luck.

Hi, I have psoriasis also. I attended a skin specialist which if you ask your GP they can refer you, mine was really bad but now it's a lot better. You should get your girlfriend to go to her GP and ask to be referred on because it is a great help.

Hi Lukediprose, Please be cautious of people trying to hand out free samples. It seems their only on this forum to promote products and prey on the desperate!

Does your gf  know what type of psoriasis she has ? Dry brushing the skin with a soft body brush to loosen the plaques ( if it's plaques psoriasis) helps before a shower or bath & your gf could try adding epsom salts or dead sea salts to her bath to loosen and flatten the plaques, use only soap free shower gel & apply a thick Shea butter lotion & peanut oil or coconut oil straight after drying to lock in the moisture.  Drinking lots of water can  help and some people find that doing an elimination diet for a couple of weeks ie;  cutting out all dairy for 2 weeks, gluten & processed food sugar & nightshade vegetables to see if it eases her skin. Unfortunately there's no quick fix for psoriasis but the more you read the more you realise that a good skin routine & sensible diet will benefit your gf & great deal. There's a young guy on instagram, Facebook & you tube from the UK who has cleared his psoriasis with a vegan plant based diet, his name is Jon Maddison and he's catalogued his clean eating journey and its very inspirational. Also bare in mind that we're all different & what works for one doesn't always work for another.

Hi, I suffered with psoriasis for many years.  I found that diet and lifestyle are definitely triggers - when I started smoking after long periods (years) of abstinence, it would appear.  I'm now teetotal, non smoking and vegan, and my skin is wonderful.  I've been free of psoriasis for a very long time.  I believe that the predisposition will always be there but also know that I can control it.

I understand that such a lifestyle might seem a little over the top but can guarantee that your health problems disappear..

Best of luck

:)

Hi there

An easy remedy - you need a piece of muslin or cotton cloth - about 20cm square.  Buy some oats (the porridge type) and add about 3 tablespoons onto the cloth, secure with a rubber band and then swish it in the bath water.

The oats leak out the protein into the bath water, which is wonderful soothing for any type of skin problem.

Also, with these types of problems, skin needs moisture.  However, the moisture needs to get into the skin and not sit on top, so aqueous creams are no good.

Even oils like - olive oil, sweet almond oil - fabulous one is good for the skin and can be bought from the supermarket.

Simply apply a light coating to the skin and if possible massage gently in.

Hope this helps.
