Hi all. I am apparently new here, but I have a desire to increase my knowledge about a problem that has been bothering me since 2015. My skin has started to show dark spots and flaking, especially during the hot season. Sometimes it's itchy. The rashes are primarily on my abdomen, ribs, and back, but there are also some on my arms. It bothers me because the remedies prescribed to me by doctors did not help to get rid of this problem at all. Doctors said that it might be shingles, but I have my doubts.
If anyone has had this problem, I would be happy to get any help on it. I really appreciate any help you can provide.
Cheers

Sorry Peter that you are having such a struggle getting a proper diagnosis and treatment, have any of the doctors suggested that you see a dermatologist? Or have you tried a pharmacist? They have a long training and are often more knowledgeable about the drugs that doctors are prescribing.
Thank you for your reply. I saw a dermatologist as soon as I got this. I have prescribed treatment with an ointment and spray. But it didn't help, unfortunately. I don't know who to go to with this issue.
Oh dear, that's awful for you. It might be worth having a wee look at the British Skin Foundation site as they have loads of info about all sorts of conditions of the skin.
Have you considered food allergies or food such as chicken which can cause a rash on ones stomach area. Perhaps start a food diary to help you with diagnosis.
