Red patch under eye

This is the second time I have gotten this red mark under my eye. It doesn’t itch but when it first came up there was swelling around both my eyes. The dermatologist can’t get me in for weeks. It is starting to dry up now and is kind of scabbing. I went to the walk in clinic when it was swollen and they gave me antibiotics which didn’t help. Any ideas?

Hi Meganrae1,

I'm guessing that it's a reaction; as to what, it could literally be anything (food, chemical, etc).

Until you can get in to see the dermatologist, you could use thin layers of OTC antibiotic ointment and 1% Hydrocortisone cream to help with inflammation/healing. Perhaps some Benadryl (antihistamine) in case there's an allergic component, and to help calm the system. Aloe vera gel is also healing and soothing, as well.

Hope you can get some answers from the doctor.

All the best.😊

Hello,

I have a very similar condition. I am guessing it is because of sun exposure. But not sure. Let me know what you did? My condition is getting bad day by day.
