Hoping for a little advice, my daughter is 9 and we keep having the odd spot, since about 5/6, and shes a picker, much like myself unfortunately. She also like me has tiny spots on the top half of her arms too..... anyone else's kids have the same. shes not allergic to anything, but i keep getting 'look at her face' when there's about 3/4 unfortunately picked spots
I'm 41 and have never had `bad' acne, just continual odd spots from a child ( and cycle dependent sorry)...
what too do? i don't want to subject her skin to harsh soaps and chemical yet been so young

Only a suggestion..... try using cooled boiled water only on her face. Use savlon or germolene on her spots as they will fight infection. Keep her nails short and clean. Not sure about the tiny spots on upper arms, sorry.
Hi picking is a very bad idea as she runs the risk of scarring. I know it's difficult but try and get her to stop this. It can also cause infection to spread. x
Hi. The tiny spots on the upper arms are likely to be Keratosis Pilaris - an excess of keratin blocking the hair follicles.
It is harmless, not contagious and usually associated with dry skin prone to eczema.
Keep the skin as moisturised as possible by using emollient cleansers with VERY gentle rubbing on your daughter's delicate skin to begin to unplug the follicles. Then use a cream with either urea, salicylic acid or lactic acid. Your GP will be able to prescribe suitable topical products.
I had this for decades, not knowing what it was. It went in my forties! My daughter and son also have it but use the above treatment to improve it when it bothers them. Tends to be better in the summer months.
