Black/Brown flat elongated dots apearing on the glans of my Penis

I think this forum is under dermatology that’s why I am going to write my post about skin related problem here. If it’s not the right one for seeking advice pls let me know in the reply sections.

I am 39 year Old Male and Circumcised. Few months back I noticed some elongated oval shaped brown spots appeared on the glans of my penis. First I thought they could be some kind of moles and would go away on their own. I have done some research online too and it said if they are not ragged outlined then nothing to worry. But these actually are hard to define by the look.

The matter of worries is, instead of going away they actually keep coming more in number and I recently found another one appeared right by the urethra. Now so far from my research I found they could be Penile Melanois which are normally harmless.

But why suddenly the number are increasing. First start with two now 4/5 around the glans. Is that normal? Or M I too paranoid? Should I take them really seriously? Please advise me. I didn’t upload photos cause I am not sure if this is the right forum although my problem is all about skin condition. Thanks in advance for any wise reply.

I am sorry that no one has replied yet. The only advice I can offer is to see your GP, as I realise you are getting concerned about the spread of the condition.

Hi Loversradio many thanks for your kind time to reply to my problem. I have seen a doctor in my local area GUM clinic. Doctor said it’s melanosis. But why they keep coming it could be matter of bit concern. Doctor asked me to keep an eye on it. After visiting Doctor I found few more appeared newly. That’s really making me anxious.

Did your doctor not offer any reassurance or medication?

No medication but did some STI check because it was a GUM clinic. She reassured that these are harmless normally yet to keep an eye if more come in cluster then need to go back to the clinic perhaps they would refer to dermatology.

That’s very annoying and frustrating right? Did you see any doctor about it? Are those elongated shaped with definite outline or round shaped with ragged outlined?

Don’t worry Lilrosie they don’t sound anything cinister to me. Normally if those spots were ragged outlined then it could be matter of concern. Try to relax and see the Doc ASAP. Good luck.

Mine ones are just flat oval shaped. No they don’t itch and don’t come off either. They are just there. Glad yours one has come off. Don’t use too much bleach. They are not good for skin. White fuzzy stuff could be some Kind if puss. Good luck.

Hi Lilrose they are flat and not itchy. But bit scary to look because they were not there before and appeared suddenly. I think those are called melanosis. But no Idea why not going away. Good luck with yours one. Let me know what Dr said? Are those abscess? Do you have any pics of them? Anyway hope they can figure out how to get rid of them. Let me know. Thanks

No Roma, they are still there. Suddenly appeared but no sign of going away! Is yours one on the same area? I mean on the Glans? Are they raised and and defined outlined?
