Are you referring to herbal or dietary supplement?

Sorry, I don't have any to suggest. However, I find a healthy lifestyle in general helpful to manage OCD. It may be true for any psychological disorder. Mens sana in corpore sano, like they say.

I have heard there are some that can help some people, including N-acetyl cysteine.

My-inositol was part of a large study where 18g a day (a lot) helped the same as prescriptions. I tried it but started to get twitchy jerks of the head at about 8g a day so stopped, but not sure if it was that or just stress. I am also concerned that myo-inositol is found in the brains of those with dementia, but this may just be a side-effect of the disease and not cause, but I haven't been able to find studies to say which one nor anything that gives this as a risk factor so I may be being over-cautious as I was really hopeful about it.

Myo-inositol is also used for other issues but at smaller doses.

Saffron and Ashwagandha are also some that can help with stress and anxiety. Worth looking into lists where there have been studies done on them.

Hello. Thank you for your response. I’ve taken NAC, but I wasn’t consistent on it. I’m gonna order another bottle I try and start again on it. My APN told me to start on it a while back. SAMSON

The Psychiatrist I have is pretty big on having the correct vitamins to help you feel good (as well as to help with OCD). This is what I've been taking:

- Multivitamin (General Well Being)

-Fish Oil (General Well Being)

-Vitamin D complex (In Winter for General Well Being)

-Vitamin B Complex (General Well Being)

- 1000mg of Inositol (Has studies showing some relief from OCD)

-Magnesium Glycinate (General Relaxation)

It's also important to get proper rest. exercise, and socialization. These also lift your mood.

This is probably very basic stuff though and will help in all aspects of life.

Hi. I do take vitamin B-Complex and Omega 3 fish oils. I also take Magnesium Glycinate. I’m also trying to cut down on espresso. The caffeine doesn’t help with the intrusive thoughts. SAMSON
