Terrified I have caused myself Nystagmus

Moved me eyes from one side to the other, and occasionally to the centre, compulsively for 20-30 seconds, and now terrified that I have caused myself permanent Nystagmus.

you can not cause Nystagmus…that’s not scientifically possible. Seems like OCD has you seeking reassurance so let me remind you that you are stronger than OCD! Please consider deleting this so OCD will get no more reassurance…it will only ask for more and more. 💕

I wish I was stronger. Also terrified (as in, haven't slept and having incredible manic spells every hour) that I looked out of the corner of my eye while moving my neck to look at something I was already looking at as some form of test to show it couldn't hurt me, and that I have caused permanent injury. I know I need help, but how and where to seek it I don't know.

I see you are struggling and you deserve support. There are OCD workbooks you can buy from Amazon or borrow from the library. There are podcasts about OCD. You can follow OCD specialists on instagram. There is online therapy with NOCD. There are support groups on the iocdf.org website. 💕

Hello. I'm sorry you're having a difficult time right now. I really am. I know what its like for OCD to take hold and cause you to spiral. Have you tried talking to a doctor or therapist? I know that things for me started to change when I was just honest with my doctor. He prescribed some medicine and I asked him to refer me to a therapist. I was scared and sad since I thought I had failed and was worthless. However, this isn't true and it was the beginning of my recovery. The good news is that there are (literally) millions of people out there who want (and can) help. All you need to do is ask.

I hope you find the peace you deserve my friend. God bless you :-)
