My adult son was recently referred to the OCD Institute in Houston for residential treatment. Has anyone had success there or can anyone share their experience there? He has been in outpatient treatment since the beginning of January and so far it is not working well. We are looking for any help we can get. We are also open to alternative treatments and clinical trials if anyone has any information.
Just want my son to live a happy/healthy life.

It might not be an issue, talk to them. Some places who advertise as not taking insurance will sometimes take out of network insurance and some will do what is called a super bill. I think they accept the super bill way of paying but you may want to clarify that with them. They can explain it in detail. I’m not exactly sure how it works but my understanding is that you would get a bill which you then submit to your insurance. Check it out with them and get everything spelled out so there aren’t unexpected surprises. I hope it all works out for your son and you.
Thank you for that clarification! I will give them a call. I don’t know how some people deal with this considering the cost. I hope we can work something out.
Hello! My college -aged son is getting residential treatment in Houston right now. We got a single case agreement to help with the cost. Happy to talk! He's having a great experience there. Highly recommend!!
