Hello fellow OCD’ers. I have a question for you. I’m switching from Zoloft to Prozac this weekend. Has anyone had good experiences with using Prozac for their OCD? Thank you.

They're similar medications - both are SSRI antidepressants. The Prozac might suit you better - it's often a matter of trial and error with medications for OCD. It's just about impossible to know how a particular patient will respond to a medication.

I've been on sertraline for a number of years, and I also take a 5mg dose of something called aripiprazole. It's actually an anti-psychotic - I'm not psychotic, but it has been found that a low dose can boost the effects of an SSRI antidepressant. Perhaps ask your prescriber about it. On it I feel more like my old self.

It takes along time to work. Its been 4 weeks and finally feeling alittle working I'm also taking klonopin 1.25 mg with it until it kicks in. I use to be on lexapro which stopped working at 20 mg. I've been on 40 mg for a month and 60mg for 2 weeks. It can take 6-12 weeks fo get the full affect

Zoloft 100mg have been working my teen.. she takes in the evening..But I notice makes her sleepy and tired of late we have to supplement magnesium and Vit D supplements.No change in appetite not increase in weight or lose of it.

I finally feel prozac 60 mg kicking in after a month. I lowered my does of klonopin 1.5 mg to 1 mg I'm happy again I will slowly lower down from 1mg as the 60mg takes full affect which could be 4- 8 weeks. I feel back in control and the OCD isn't in charge anymore. I also work out regularly which helps. I can't believe how out of control i was for 2 months till I went back on meds. prozac is great. lexapro stopped working for me after about 10 years
