It’s time for Taboo Tuesday! I am Krista Reed OCD specialist in Wichita, KS and IOCDF advocate here to give you taboo only topics!

This month is a REMIX because I do not believe that this is actual taboo topic- I believe that when it is called taboo, it creates more harm and stigma for those within this population.  I am talking about the LGBTQIA+ folks.

If you are not heterosexual or cisgendered; there is nothing wrong with you. There is absolutely something wrong with saying that having obsessions about being homosexual or transgender is taboo.  All too often, whenever someone states that sexual orientation obsessions are taboo, they are referring to obsessions about being gay.

Fearing that you will become a violent person is taboo.Fearing being a pedophile is taboo.Fearing that you could be someone who accidently die by their own hand is taboo.

These are taboo because they are forbidden and can be offensive.

So all this month, Pride month nonetheless, I will further diving into why it is more stigmatizing and harmful clumping SO OCD with other taboo topics.

Remember- Stigma and shame die where communication and validation live ❤️
