Does anyone else have trouble sleeping? I take trazodone and it’s helping, but it takes me forever to get to sleep. Would anybody have any help or advice for me? Thanks.

I've been taking ambien and it's helps alot. It's very habit forming so I might come off of it soon. Talk to your doctor to help you and take that!

I do something soothing before I plan to go to bed. Sometimes I'll watch Monk, a favorite old TV series.

If I'm hurting, I'll mix some turmeric and a few other spices in hot milk. It seems to help pain and relax me. (Look up "golden milk".)

A little while before bed, I take time-release Melatonin -- the regular kind doesn't help me.

I like smoothing out my bedding and fluffing my pillows too.

I have a favorite audiobook set up near my bed to listen to as I fall asleep. If you try this, stay away from Stephen King. That was a really bad idea. Apparently the story still gets through to your sleeping mind. I woke up screaming the night I fell asleep listening to Mr. Mercedes.

Hi. That is a good idea about playing the audiobook! I never thought to do that. Thanks!

I have tried White noise on my cell phone. It does something a little weird to me in my mind when I'm listening to it, but I know it's a good thing to use for a lot of people. The (rushing) waterfall ones are really good.

You're welcome.

I don't usually have difficulty sleeping but therapist Steven Phillipson talked about the issue on The OCD Stories podcast awhile back. He had some interesting points and I have found some of them helpful on the rare occasions I'm lying in bed awake.
