How do you stop severe need to do compulsions/rituals? Especially at work?

I suffer from sever and delibitating OCD.

Taking fluxotine 80 mg, and Olanzapine 15 mg.

CBT is defintely not helping.

Thank you.

Hi I've no advice to give just wanted you to no your not alone im in the same situation cant get it under control .

Dear Chromatic,

Something that helps me is trying to delay the rituals and compulsions, even if just for a few minutes. For example, we use Teams at work and I feel like I need to reply to my supervisor immediately when she sends me a Teams message, even if I'm on the phone or in the middle of something. So, instead I'll tell myself, "I'll reply to her message in 5 minutes," or "when I'm off the phone." I try to tolerate the discomfort & think of it as strengthening my OCD-fighting muscles.

It's not easy, I know. Work can be stressful and stress makes OCD flare up.

Best wishes & sympathy! 🌞
