So I've had ocd contamination flare ups in the past but this time its really got a grip on me its been really bad now for over a year I can't see a light at the end of the tunnel I've changed meds a few times with know joy and ended up back on my original meds I've spoken to a phyciatrist but didn't really help me at all . I'm so fed up of my daily struggles with this I feel so depressed and sad that no one around me really understands what I'm going through . I'm going to be 47 this year and do think that hormones are playing a big part in my feelings I tried hrt patches for a couple of months but that didn't help im at a lose as to where to go from here im on a waiting list for cbt .no point to this post really just needed to put it out there of how im feeling to people who understand xx

When my ocd is bad I up my dose of lexapro to 40mg from 20 and take clonazepam .5mg up to 1,5 mg per day. slowly I decrease the clonazepam as the lexapro kicks in. This makes me feel back in control You need some clonazepam. It's not worth the suffering. I get it

I'm taking venlefaxine .quitipine and also diazapam as needed is that the same as the clonzepam ?

Leannek, I am so sorry that you are struggling so hard right now. I don’t have tons of words of wisdom except to say that I GET IT because I am 46 years old as well, and I’ve had ocd since I was 4, and I’m in a really dark and lonely place right now with my ocd. It can just sap all the energy out of you. And it’s hard when people around you don’t understand.

I know people find help with ERP (exposure response prevention) therapy, especially with contamination ocd… so that’s something you could try if you get in with the cbt therapist… and sometimes you have to try a few different meds, or combination of meds, before you find success.

Hang in there. It CAN get better. Sorry you’re struggling so hard right now though. We all understand, and we care. You are not alone. ❤️‍🩹

Thanks for your comment im sorry your struggling aswell. I've had bad flare ups of it in the past but nothing on this level. The last year has really took its roll on me I've tried different meds but nothing has really helped . Just so fed up with fighting my head every moment of everyday just want some relief from it .
