Either CBT or exposure traditional theraphy are not easy for patient or family member , particularly for the avoidance recovery OCD. It is a long haul journey and was less effective sometime.
Can we rethink the OCD and bring the effort and science advance of psychology,biology,nueroscience ,AI drug development ,gene tech under one roof to dealing with the illness more effectively ?
How much we konw about the brain? In near future ,are there any novel or breakthrough medicine or treament of OCD available since the mapping of human brain and gene were completed .

I’m not trying to take the wind out of anyones sails. 2.5% of the population has OCD. Is it really profitable for big pharmaceutical to spend money on us? How many commercials do we see on tv about OCD versus depression, heart disease, diabetes, etc? Unfortunately, it just doesn’t seem to be worth their resources.
As far as innovations in treatment, Exposure and Response Prevention is the Gold Standard in treating OCD. It's evidence-based and very efficacious. There are many specialists who pair ERP with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as ACT can also be helpful for OCD.
I have found ACT to really be a gamechanger in my recovery.
