Hey everyone! Been struggling lately will being hyper aware of my swallowing . Every time I eat food it feels like it gets stuck and I forget how to swallow. I have to drink water to get it down. For a slight second it feels like I’m going to choke. And then the whole time I’m eating I’m aware of every time I swallow my food. Any tips or anyone else experience this before ?

Hi, I experienced this. It was the beginning of OCD for me, and it was really awful. I thought it would never end and I'd have to deal with it tormenting me forever. I was extremely depressed, and then it left, but I eventually relapsed. After a while I learned I should not avoid the hyperawareness( I would go on walks, chew gum, avoid having to swallow etc) and should instead indulge in it. I eventually became desensitized to it. P.S I have not relapsed since the last experience
