I'm NattyBumpo. I am new to the OCD Foundation, but unfortunately,a veteran of OCD. My issues reached a point in 1994 that I was hospitalized. Years of medication have kept it pretty much in control all these years, but lately it's back with a vengeance. I'm working on it,with therapy and new and increased medication. I know there are lots of us out there, maybe we can make things a little easier exchanging our experiences and ideas.

I am NattyBumpo and I am new here.
Hi NattyBumpo. Always here for anything. Just even to say hello.
Hi NattyBumpo, Welcome! I am not on this site very often but I understand that when we were young, there was seemingly little to no information on OCD. I am 69yo and my ocd issues started when I was in my early 30's. However, I saw perfection in me in my younger days. Been a long road and finally I feel stronger because of all the information available and ERP. Feel free to ask questions. Hope each day you feel stronger.
Does everyone else's ocd move on to a slightly different issue during the course of your life? As in mine, first it was all about not wanting my kids to get a deadly disease and it's morphed now into me being scared of unwanted fingernail fungus. I'm avoiding everyone and everything that I fee can transfer it..anyone else have different things now that we are older and kids are grown?
ArabianFallon,my name is NattyBumpo. Personally,I still experience the same OCD issues today,as when I was first diagnosed 27 years ago. I haven't developed any new ones.
Thank you for your reply😊
You're welcome,Arabia Fallon! Hang in there!
Hi,Sorry just saying hello, I didn’t see your post!! I’m new on here too and agree it would be great to exchange experiences and ideas!! I was diagnosed with OCD in my early 20’s, but now I can look back and see I had it much earlier. I’m 58, back then I didn’t get much help for it. Ive struggled A Lot.
Hello Blue455. Thanks for the reply. I've struggled a lot, too. I'm still struggling. I felt pretty much in control of it for the last 20+ years. Now,it's back and stronger than ever. I just started therapy and new meds. Hope to get a handle on it again. My worst symptom is Hit and Run OCD: fear of hitting someone while driving. But, I notice if I don't drive for awhile,it manifests in other everyday areas. Fears I have somehow endangered someone.
