Hi Everyone! I've seen so many posts recently about checking to make sure intrusive thoughts aren't true (and I've been falling into this A LOT lately). And yet, it's not about disproving thoughts but about just letting them be there...like passengers on a bus.

I work with 2700 kiddos everyday, and sometimes they are REALLY noisy, but I can let them be noisy and continue on my path to what I've set out to do for the day. The same is true with our OCD. My OCD might be shouting that I'm a horrible/dangerous/awful person while waving it's arms frantically, but I can make the choice to treat it as really loud kids on a bus...letting it be loud but moving closer to my values (like my students, family, doctoral program, and running).

What does this look like for you? Do you think it's possible (as scary as it seems!) to let the passengers on the bus be there (even when they're loud!) as you choose not to engage and move towards your values?

I love the graphic! I can definitely relate to this Katie! My OCD has been so loud with thoughts of not being good enough lately. Not a good enough parent, advocate, friend etc.

So, I have really been trying my hardest to practice this. Just allowing the thoughts to be there and doing the thing anyway. It's tough and it feels terrible sometimes, but I'd rather be leaning into my values than OCD!
