Do you think I made this question to my therapist understandable?

I asked my therapist:

"I guess when we talked about how all things considered, soap smeared on the TV wouldn't be a big deal, you were just saying even if that somehow came to be & there was damage, it wouldn't be the end of the world? Not to actually test it out?"

When I said "Not to actually test it out?" did you read this as asking if I needed to do this for an exposure task or something else? In other words, when you read it, what did you think I meant?

Thanks for your help.

I read it as a theoretical question not a I should do it right statement. Your fear is of the thought not the action and the exposure would be letting yourself live with the anxiety of learning to accept that it would be okay to smear soap on your tv if you wanted to
