Hi, I've been struggling with what looks like HOCD for a couple of years now and I noticed symptoms seem to get better when my obsession switch to another one.
One of the obsession is pretty weird and I hope I can explain it easily. Since I tend to test my attraction to women from time to time I noticed that once, I found myself checking at body details, like nose or mouth or feet or whatever and overanalyzing those body parts. The problem is that I started not to be able seeing "human beings" as a whole and it causes me distress when I think of that too much. It is another behaviour and awareness that prevents me even more from feeling attracted like I used to.
So it's like overanalyzing body parts then wondering stuff like "why a breast is attractive to human?" (I precise that when I'm not into that obsession I do find women breasts attractive), but when I'm stuck in it, overanalyzing it, it looses all its sense of attraction.
I try my best not thinking too much about that but the sensation remains present. I feel "disconnected from humanity" somehow when I'm into that.
Can we see this as OCD? Does anyone go through a similar thing?
Thanks a lot

Yep mate it definitely is ocd and the pattern is so obvious to us not going through that obsession . anything that keep bringing you back time and time again and ruminating the shit out of it is ocd ,,,,try thinking it like ,,,,okey I'm concentrat ing on people's body bits and am focusing on the individual bits and ignoring the person as a whole ,it's not really all that strange ,we as humans spend a lot of time doing that kind of thing anyway ,,,,the more you get concerned around thinking and worrying about it the more the ocd says ...aha I've found another way to panic him ,,,,learn about this disorder and you will see how it could panic people about just about every thing from a cream bun to a odd shaped toe nail ,it's not the content of the thought but rather the way we react to it and feeling fear and upsetment with ourselves ,,,,we are not perfect ,and nothing is certain in this world ,,,,it's a common illness and you will see that when you hear other people's stories
