I saw the red stuff hanged on the gate while watching this skit on Facebook and it triggered the OCD again. I have tried to sit with the intrusive thoughts since 3 days ago but to no avail and it's heightening my anxiety.... suggesting compulsion of removal.
Please is the red stuff really harmful or would cause harm or might be a sin against me on the last day that prevent me from entering heaven?
What could the stuff be?
I need help please.

Hi Precious2023! I don’t know what the red thing is. It almost looks like a decoration of a red chili pepper, or maybe it’s fabric? Not really sure. From what I can see, it doesn’t seem harmful or like it would be a sin against you.
The intrusive thoughts keep suggesting different things like it 2 statues tied together(charm) or shoes or cow bones or decoration to lock the gate or hanged on the gate for a purpose to harm someone with so much doubt and uncertainties.
There are many characters in the drama(skit), I believe they should have seen it or left it or take care of it afterwards.
I feel so silly, exhausted, frustrated, stuck and distressed at every OCD attack that occurs. So much is expected of me from both my nuclear and extended family, unknowingly to them that I am battling with a chronic illness.
I didn't deserve this kind of life suffering from OCD..... it's so painful!
I reached out for medical help but haven't heard anything for over 2 months now.
I don't know what else to do....I am just tired! I feel I am the only one suffering from this all over the world.
You are not the only person who has this. You do have company like us who can help. I know you are not supposed to reassure in situations like this but I think that can be somewhat cruel in intense situations like this seems to be. I do not think the red stuff is anything to worry about. I can tell you are a good and moral person as it would not have bothered someone who is not. Please continue to reach out for professional treatment. I know firsthand it is very frustrating as it is very difficult to get in to places to be seen. You need and deserve the help professionals can provide. In the meantime we are here to help anytime you need. God bless you and take care.
I filled a self referral form since Feb thru NHS, they did an online and phone call assessment and confirmed it's OCD and they promised to put me on priority that my GP would be contacted for medication and to a psychologist for CBT since early last month but haven't heard anything yet.
My prayers for every one suffering from this debilitating illness is to be healed totally by the powerful hand of God.
Hi Precious2023. You are definitely not alone my friend. Have you tried giving them a call and find out why it’s taking so long? We all understand what you are going through. Always here to support each other.
My advice is stop obsessing over religious ideas. Yes, there are more to this world and our lives than what we see, but no - not even one institutional religion are telling you the whole story. It's in all cases some spiritual principles (which are fine) mixed with lots of man made dogma. Start learning self love and compassion - through meditation or just simply say to yourself out loudly "I love myself, I really love myself" whenever you have another spike of OCD. Hug yourself if you need. Such simple technique sending love vibes to myself and sometimes to my loved ones has been very helpful to me. Maybe it will help you as well. We all know how it feels as most of the people in OCD forums have suffered extensively from this mental quirk. Kudos to you reaching out for help. Hope NHS will offer you some coverage for the treatment soon.
