Are there any antidepressants that doesn't cause weight gain.. Im taking prozac for my OCD for 3 months now and I have gained weight. The weight gain is making me not want to take anymore. I don't want the excess weight on top of OCD & anxiety. Any one else have weight gain from prozac or anyone taking a SSRI that doesn't cause weight gain that helps the OCD

When my son had to start taking an SSRI, I warned the doctor that he had difficulty maintaining a healthy weight and had been diagnosed with insulin resistance. The doctor prescribed Zoloft, saying it had a lower risk of weight gain. Perhaps you could share your concern with your doctor and ask if Zoloft would be an acceptable alternative.

By the way, my son also has ADHD and when he started taking Strattera, his weight became somewhat easier to control. But we have to make sure he eats breakfast before he takes the Strattera because I think it suppresses the appetite a bit. (Not as much as the traditional stimulant medications, though, which he couldn't tolerate because of the rebound appetite when the stimulant wore off.)

I gained with Prozac as well. I really gained on Remeron, which was a bummer because it worked well for me. I gained the least amount of weight on Viibryd. Good luck!
