Yes. I experience more obsessive thoughts than repeatedly checking things. However, my compulsions tend to be trying to figure things out by researching or spending hours reading, on the internet or overeating. OCD comes in different forms and can be a tricky little booger. I have what's called scrupulosity OCD where I have to be morally upstanding. I can be very hard on myself and apologize when it's not necessary.

Absolutely....and it can be pure torture!!! There are probably compulsions that you are doing that you may not even realize that exist. There are many sub types of OCD ... I have many of them, however fortunately my meds are effective, and I've learned so much from the International OCD foundation about this. I'm pretty much under control at the moment. Triggers however can set this off....when it happens, I can be off and running in my head again.

I've found that the regular webinars that the International OCD Foundation has (iocdf.org) are sooooooooooooooo incredibly helpful and educational that I've learned tips to help myself when I'm triggered. try looking over that website and especially tune into the webinars hosted by "Just Ethan".....you will learn so much! <heart>
