I am a OCD patient. I can concentrate on reading when I am alone but when I am surrounded by peoples or friends it's impossible for me to concentrate. That's why I can't enjoy watching television with family, friends. I can't study with classmates. It's little bit hard for me to concentrate on lectures. Does anyone knows why this happens? One thing I want to mention is that the anxious feeling is more often related to vision of eyes of others and mine. This decreases my productivity. Every kind of suggestion /opinion is welcomed.

Unable to concentrate on reading when surrounded by peoples.
I can relate to some of what you are going through with concentration.
I have OCD and it is hard for me to read a book, anything online, when people are talking around me, or the television is showing something.
OCD creates the doubt if I am able to concentrate or not while reading with the background noise.
I usually end up rereading what I read, in fear of making a mistake.
I can understand how concentration gets difficult.
I am exactly the same. I think if any of you Google 'Executive Functioning and OCD'
which is a part odf the brain that is responsible for multi-tasking, and what happens if this part of our brain is not functioning as it should do. Hopefully this might help some of you.
I am the same way. If people are talking I cannot read. I feel anxious about missing something. I could never study with music playing or the TV on.
