OCD and driving

I haven't ever had any issues with driving before, but a few days ago, I witnessed a minor motorcycle accident. I was inching along in traffic on the highway in the left lane, and a motorcyclist went around me in the left shoulder, lost control and fell over. Everyone appeared to be okay, but ever since then I have been obsessing over whether I might have accidentally caused the accident, because I wasn't looking up at the time. I don't know if it makes sense to do ERP for this, because I don't ever worry about if I caused an accident or hit someone in normal driving conditions. Does anyone have any thoughts?

I had an accident that I caused and since then I look behind me when i pass a bicyclist, jogger, or construction worker just to make sure i didn't run them over. I also stick to the same roads and count every turn. I will not mess up again. You didn't cause the accident. You were not moving. But i understand the worry.

Thank you. They looked to be okay (there were two people on the bike) minus scrapes and bruises, and in fact one of them pointed to the road as if to indicate a piece of debris that they slipped on. Still, my brain goes to the "what ifs."

Totally ocd trying to trick you. Do ERP- live with the uncertainty. Tell your brain- “maybe I did, maybe I didn’t”. Don’t fight the anxiety. It will soon pass
