Hi guys, I have health anxiety OCD and I've been just diagnosed borderline glaucoma, which means I'll have to wait 6 months to see if I have it or it was just an anomaly in my high myopy eyes. Any advise to deal with the anxiety/ uncertainty these 6 months??. I know we can consider this period as a perfect ERP experience but the worst scenario freaks me out🙄😣 I'm under a lot stress now!! Please share experiences/ thoughts. Thanks!!!

Hi! It’s hard to get a diagnosis! But, you don’t know if you have it. Like you said, it’s a perfect opportunity to practice uncertainty!! Let your mind go to the worst case scenario and say “oh well that could happen but I’m going to live my life to the full!!” Keep doing it despite the strong feelings!! It will lessen. Best wishes!!
Exactly what wheel ofFortune said.
I found this article that gives some tips for early treatment and possible prevention of glaucoma. If it were me I'd probably be deep diving all about it and doing whatever I could to reverse it (even if that's not always technically possible). Something about learning about my worries actually helps ease my anxiety/OCD, as long as I don't get obsessed. :/ Probably because it decreases uncertainty (for me).

Are you being treated for your OCD? That of course helps, too
