I have been diagnosed with PV. Can anyone recommend travel insurance for under 50s?

I have ET and was diagnosed in my 40's. I used Insure and Go without a problem - I declared the condition and answered their questions and it was all OK with no extra premium required. Also, Macmillan have a list of sympathetic companies on their website if you just put in Travel Insurance in the search part of their home page and follow the links you should find it. Hope that helps. Good luck.

I em 58'and have had pv for 7 years. My travel insurance is with the AA underwritten by Axa. I used to use Go Travel but they stopped covering pv a few years ago. I pay £56 for annual European cover.

we have a list of insurance companies that have been recommended by patients listed on our travel advice leaflet, if you follow this link mpdvoice.org.uk/living-... and scroll down to the Consider Insurance paragraph you will see a link to the Travel and MPDs leaflet, pages 4 and 5 lists all the companies.

Tried this. Went to Consider insurance and clicked link to travel. But it takes you to treatment leaflets. Is there a mistake or have I misunderstood?

Insure & go I am over 60 & they just ask if had any blood clots & I have not , they charge about £40 extra on a worldwide (inc USA) yearly policy. You can do it all online.

Thank you all so much for giving me a range of different options. Hopefully I will be able to get some type of insurance as unfortunately I have had a stroke and that's how I was diagnosed with PV. I have also tried the MPDvoice link and it took me to treatment leaflets as well, have I done something wrong?

Halifax insurance charged me an extra £35 per annum on top of my regular payments. I am in my mid 40's. My husband is on the same insurance as I am and when he had a back operation his insurance was hiked up by £85 per annum !!! The operative on the end of the phone was far more interested in my husbands condition than mine. This made me feel very relived in a strange kind of way.
