We are off on a family trip to Costa Rica and are going to be spending a fair amount of time on buses. Can anyone recommend a lightweight method to keep my syringes cool? I’m taking 4 x 135mg syringes - only little!
I was looking at Frio bags for insulin but they only maintain temperatures between 18-26deg cent and the interferon needs to be 2-8 deg centigrade.
Cheers,
Josh

We have always used medpac bags for my sons meds, they come in a range of sizes and I always add a cool pack, it’s also always worth speaking to the hotels to ask if their is a small fridge available in your room for your meds, or if you could take a couple of freezer packs would they be happy to keep one in a freezer for you to rotate once or twice a day. we’ve never had a problem. Enjoy your holiday
Hi HuginnI’m on Pegasys and have travelled with my syringes to the UK before. I’m in Australia and am flying to the UK ink 5 weeks and this time I have ordered from Disoncare one of their small insulin carriers. As the flying time is 22 hours, it will do the job. Hope this helps.
Thank you Kinsale. It’s interesting that you’re using an insulin bag as I think they tend to maintain a temp around 18-26 degrees and my Interferon needs to be less than 10. I think that thermos/ice packs are needed!Have you looked into Frio cool bags for your pegasys if it is allowed to be stored in the 20s? The Frio bags look amazing.
Hi HuginnMustang50 talked about the Frio Bags. I have bought the Disoncare Insulin Cooler Travel Case from Amazon.com.au but it should be available from your local Amazon site. Hope this helps.
I have read your message and am experiencing similar problems with trying to find a way to transport my medication. I’m flying from the UK to Australia in December. My research advises not to separate from original packaging and must be kept between 2-8 degrees Also I will be taking 7 packs which will require space .
How did you get on I would appreciate hearing from you or anyone else who has successfully flown with our medication.
