PV and hyperbaric chamber (HBOT)??

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had a firm view on the use of hyberbaric chamber for PV patients? This to counter the lower oxygen levels that might have detrimental longterm effect on our brains..

I know there’s no established clinical guideline for its use in PV but there should be some theoretical benefits that could make it worth exploring - as always with caution and assuming HTC/plts under controll..

I think my brain is past all help but it might be worth investigating. Can rarely cause perforated ear drum which I had after a flight recently so beware.

Look out for safety. Where I live there is no specific regulation for these chambers. In Troy, Michigan very recently a 5 year old child being treated for autism was killed in one when it blew up. His mother was severely burned trying to get him out. Not seen a root cause yet. The clinic owner was arrested and charged I think with manslaughter. Michigan politicos are now drafting legislation to define regulations. Cannot comment on goodness of oxygen therapy but caution on safety.

UPDATE Correcting the boy was getting treatment for AHDH and sleep apnea. It was 25 of 30 planned treatments. The owner was charged with second degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. Three other employees were also similarly charged. Suspected cause was static created when he moved his legs causing his part polyester pajama bottom to rub on the chamber mattress. Nobody confirmed he was wearing 100% cotton which is one of the mfg safety requirements. There were other issues including only one tech on staff at the time for 3 people getting treatment. Supposed to be a tech present during every treatment.

Not trying to dissuade anyone, just raising caution that unregulated and unapproved processes and facilities as this one was can be very serious trouble. Please be very careful.

Where did you get the idea that an MPN leads to “lower oxygen levels”?
