I was diagnosed with JAK 2 + ET 7 years ago. I have been taking HU 400mg 2Xday and 162.5 mg of Aspirin daily. Genetic testing I had done years prior to my ET diagnosis demonstrated I had the MTHFR 677 defect from both of my parents. In the USA grains are fortified with synthetic Folate called Folic Acid. If you are unable to methylate seeking out the methylated form is recommended. I mentioned it to my Hematologist but didn't get much of a reaction. I was most concerned with the increased clotting concerns. I wasn't interested in something that might make developing a clot any easier. There are many articles both professional and by a myriad of alternative medicine sources. Do you have the MTHFR defect?
