I wonder if she has alopecia? There are a number of different types of alopecia, so she might want to look into that. I wish I had a cure for hairloss!
I posted something about this a little while ago. Tell her to see her dermatologist. We can prescribe medications if appropriate and their are some cosmetic procedures that can help.
I have alopecia universalis, that started as alopecia areata. This was after a very stressful time due to post child birth sepsis and the resulting complications. I had a few years of care through a dermatologist and had cortisone injections into the scalp. These did help with regrowth at the time. This was 20 years ago and I have lost all my hair since, as my alopecia is considered an autoimmune condition. I still wander at the links to my MF. Get your friend to a dermatologist asap, as I do believe immediate medical intervention will help. All the best. Penny
