Wondered if people had recently been successful with claims under their critical illness policy for PV. I noticed the insurance company have sent a standard cancer form to the gp but some of tyre questions regarding staging and spread do not apply.

critical illness claim
My critical illness insurance paid out for my ET. Took about 8 months, GP completed paperwork quite quickly, but had to wait months for hospital to complete paperwork, but once insurance company in Uk had all paperwork, they paid within a or two week. Good luck.
Thank you! Did you get to see the form sent from the insurance company to the gp? It is a general cancer form with questions that ask about spread and staging of the cancer which obviously don’t apply. Just worried me.
I phoned my insurance company (Scottish provident) to enquire if I had critical cover and how do i claim, they then emailed me a form to complete, which included the GP and hospital contact details, I then had a phone interview ( took about 30 minutes) they then sent both gp and hospital a form by post. I did tick the box that says I wanted to see their reports, before they send back to insurance company.
Hope this helps, you just have to follow their procedures.
Take care xx
I was successful on claiming for my PV....It didn't take very long to come with Aviva. If I remember rightly I had to fill out a form too, and when I did that, I sent all the appropriate clinic letters myself. I hope you're successful in your claim.

it’s for my husband - he has sent off the diagnosis letter and the insurance company have requested medical history from the gp but also sent a standard cancer form for the gp to fill out. The form has questions such as what stage is the cancer at and has it spread. Clearly blood cancer doesn’t respond in this way so was concerned. Good to hear people have had success
